Larry Attree is coming to Bath to talk to us about the right way to respond to terrorism, creating security by peacebuilding. On Wednesday 4 July at 1900 (note start time!) he will deliver the next instalment in Bath Stop War’s Rethinking Security series, speaking in our Meeting House.
Larry heads the Global Policy & Advocacy unit at Saferworld, a long-established, independent international organisation which works to build peace in 20 countries. He has written and edited numerous research reports and articles on counter-terrorism and stabilisation efforts around the world – available on the Saferworld website – and regularly discusses policy alternatives with UK, US, EU and UN decision-makers. This is a chance to debate his arguments and the evidence underpinning them.
Meteorological note: I write this in a heatwave; the meeting was to have happened in March, when snow trapped Larry in London.
