Final Meeting in old York Street Friends Meeting House

Bath Quakers said a reflective farewell to the old Friends Meeting House in York Street. A short meeting for worship was followed by memories and stories from the years spent here. We heard of ministry about Kristallnacht, shared mixed feelings about noise and Abbey bells, recalled wedding ceremonies and Friends’ first experiences of being welcomed into the meeting.

We may be leaving the building, but we are not leaving each other.

Future Quaker meetings will from 1 April be held in the Bath Central United Reform Church. The Sunday time is changing to 1030 (which is the norm for Meetings around the country).

If any Friends need help getting to Meeting at that slightly earlier time they should contact elders; transport assistance should be available.

Bath Quakers share memories associated with the old Meeting House at their last meeting in York Street.
