When the Bath & District branch of the United Nations Association holds its 2019 AGM on 13 November, there will be a chance to see a new film which Friends’ Meetings all over the UK have been supporting. This one will be at 7:30 pm on Wednesday 13th November in the Milsom Room of Manvers Street Baptist Church.
Mic Dixon’s film WAR SCHOOL is about the militarisation of UK society and particularly education. It reveals a deliberate strategy to promote military values to the British public and entice children into joining the forces. It was made in consultation with Quaker Peace & Social Witness and Veterans for Peace.
Through veterans’ testimony, archive and observation WAR SCHOOL tells the untold story of Britain’s century of perpetual war and growing resistance to militarism.
The film will come immediately after the AGM of the local UNA branch: that starts at 7:00 pm and is open to non-members.
