Bath Quakers: Meetings suspended; new virtual ways to stay connected

Elders have today written to Bath Quakers as follows:

Dear Friends,

In accordance with the latest public health advice Bath Quakers will not be holding meetings for worship in person for the foreseeable future: this means that our Tues, Weds and Sunday meetings are cancelled.

While we can’t meet in person, there’s still lots we can do as a community:
• You might like to worship from home at the usual time of our meetings, holding friends in the Light.
• We are looking into the possibility of holding online meetings for worship. We’ll keep you posted. Meanwhile, Woodbrooke already operate 4 online meetings for worship per week which are open to all, see: https://www.woodbrooke.org.uk/about/online-mfw/
• If you’re feeling isolated, do reach out.
• And as ever, do think of phoning someone who might be missing fellowship.

There’s also a new Bath Quakers WhatsApp group for fellowship now up and running. Contact us for details (or just connect to me on WhatsApp and I can add you to the group) – William Heath

In other news:

Friends House and Swarthore Hall are now closed until 20 April:

Bath Inter Faith group has cancelled the following events:

In  line with the latest advice, the Bath IFG Committee have agreed the following measures while we are going through this period of being advised to curtail public gatherings etc:

  1. Sunday 19 April,  between 4 and 6 pm, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Scriptural discussion –  Christians from different denominations discuss the Easter story: this is CANCELLED, and we would hope to hold around Easter time 2021
  2. Thurs 14th May, 7.30pm, Weston Hub, Sheila Broun: a talk on the Goddess: this is CANCELLED, and again we would hope to hold much later in the year (November, December).
  3. At this point, we still intend / hope that our big event in October (Sun Oct 25 from 4-6pm, to celebrate 30 years of Bath Interfaith Group) will still go ahead
  4. We also hope that the events being planned for September 19 (Pilgrimage etc) will still be able to happen

–  both of these to be confirmed nearer the date –
