We are all encouraged to familiarise ourselves with Quaker Faith & Practice, especially this spring as Yearly Meeting in May will be considering whether it’s time to revise the volume. It’s an amazing book, with voices from over 350 years of Quaker experience.
We can all contribute to the revision of Quaker Faith & Practice this year.
Some local Quakers are taking part in a shared reading programme that gives us a good tour of Quaker Faith & Practice by inviting us to read seven passages a week for 16 weeks. It’s not too late to join in (see here/Jan-Feb newsletter for details or see schedule below).
I’m arranging two opportunities for us to get together to share our reflections on passages from Quaker Faith & Practice:
- Sun 18 Feb 12:45–13:45, Bath Friends Meeting House
- Sun 11 March, 12:45–13:45, Bath Friends Meeting House
All welcome – do join us if you can.
We also have an informal email group for sharing responses, please let me know if you’d like to join this.
Do consider coming to Yearly Meeting 2018, there are programmes for all-ages. Bursary support is available if needed. Booking deadline for Junior Yearly Meeting (15 – 18 year olds) is 23rd Feb. Booking deadline for the children and young people’s programme (0 – 15 year olds) is 18th March. Adults are also asked to register – this isn’t a formal booking, but it helps those planning for the event to have an idea of numbers and needs of participants. See these Yearly Meeting 2018 weblinks or ask me for more details.
