Bath Quakers at WWI 100th anniversary ceremony of remembrance

Jane Stephenson, Lin Paterson and other Bath Quakers attended a moving remembrance ceremony at the Bath war memorial 100 years on from the moment the great war ended 1100 on 11 November 1918. Together we remembered those who had suffered and died, and joined in prayers that we might become peaceful people, for justice and that we might might treat others as we ourselves would wish to be treated.

As part of the ceremony Jane and Lin laid red and white poppy wreaths at the war memorial, alongside wreaths from other civic and military groups.

Soldiers, veterans and other groups met in warm November sunshine to pay their respects and join in prayers for peace.

As part of the ceremony Bath Quakers laid two poppy wreaths, one red, one white.
